
The Junior Service League (JSL) provides volunteer, assistance and funding to local non-profit agencies for the benefit and enrichment of the Concord community and the development and education of our League Volunteers.
Each year, the JSL invests thousands of volunteer hours to community agencies and programs. Last year, 20 League members provided over 2500 hours to community projects and programs. Each year we choose community projects. Here is a sampling of what we have been or are involved with:

BACK TO SCHOOL GIVING
AUGUST
Many Concord-area families struggle to prepare their youngsters back to class. The costs of new backpacks, sneakers, clothing, and school supplies add up. Every year, the JSL members purchase new supplies and clothing for 10 low-income or homeless students.

FALL COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY
SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER
Twice a year, JSL volunteers a day of community service to local non-profit agencies. Examples of community service days include painting and cleaning a subsidized day care center, painting new apartments for for formely homeless women, and distributing food and clothing to a local food bank.
SEPTEMBER - JUNE
League members staff the Friendly Kitchen- The only soup kitchen in Concord area-- For one evening, every other month. Our volunteers plan the menu, prepare, cook and serve the food, and wash the dishes.

OUTFITTERS
SEPTEMBER - JUNE
League Members help sort clothes which in addition to a variety of other items are sold to generate money for Families in Transition, with 100% of store proceeds benefiting the agency to support FIT housing and services for the homeless in Manchester and Concord.

HOLIDAY BASKETS
NOVEMBER & DECEMBER
League members donate food items to fill baskets for families in need in the Concord region. Members also provide gifts, including coats, boots, sneakers, clothing, and toys for homeless children in December.
RISE AGAIN OUTREACH
SEPTEMBER - JUNE
League volunteers periodically staff the Rise Again Outreach 'Mobile Mission' buses and help distrisbute basic needs items to the homeless, refugees, and working poor.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB AUCTION
DECEMBER
The League partners with the Boys & Girls Club by taking bids over the phones from viewers watching the Club's annual TV auction.
