Our Mission

To provide support to women and children in crisis by promoting volunteerism, and improving the community through civic service and leadership. We bring the strength of women and the power of community together to make a difference in the community in which we live.

Values and Commitments

Introduction:

The Junior Service League of Concord is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for its members and the community. JSL is grounded in the beliefs and ideals in the following core tenants. This Values and Commitments document outlines the principles and expectations that guide our behavior and interactions as representatives of the organization. 

Purpose: 

This serves as a guiding document that outlines expected behaviors and common values for board members and general members in the Junior Service League. The following outlines the values and dispositions that reflect each member.

1. Respect and Inclusivity:

  • Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, identity, or opinions.

  • Embrace diversity and create an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes and values the perspectives of all members.

2. Professionalism:

  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all interactions, whether within the organization or in the community.

  • Uphold honor and respect for current, past and prospective members’ opinions and perspectives.

  • Respect and maintain the confidentiality of organizational information including information from partner organizations, financial records and other sensitive data. 

3. Collaboration:

  • Foster a collaborative spirit by actively engaging with fellow members, volunteers, and community partners.

  • Work cooperatively towards common goals, recognizing the strength of teamwork in achieving our mission.

4. Volunteer Commitment:

  • Fulfill volunteer commitments with dedication and a positive attitude.

  • Communicate proactively about any challenges or changes affecting your ability to meet volunteer obligations.

5. Fiduciary Responsibility

  • Respect and maintain a fiduciary responsibility that aligns with Junior Service League’s mission.

  • When applicable, members should disclose any conflict of interests between themselves and grantees.

  • Assess risks that may impact the organization's operations, reputation, or financial stability.
